The Tribal Law and Policy Institute works under a Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) grant program to provide Training and Technical Assistance (T/TA) to Tribal Healing to Wellness (Drug) Courts. Our three overall project goals are:
To provide T/TA to assist developing Healing to Wellness Courts;
To provide T/TA to strengthen existing Healing to Wellness Court programs; and
To provide the field with state-of-the-art resources on effective strategies for addressing substance-abusing offenders in Tribal Healing to Wellness Courts.

About the Tribal Law and Policy Institute
The Tribal Law and Policy Institute is a 100% Native American operated non-profit corporation organized to design and deliver education, research, training, and technical assistance programs which promote the enhancement of justice in Indian country and the health, well-being, and culture of Native peoples. We are guided by a Board of Directors. We utilize an Approach to Training and Technical Assistance which is incorporated into all of our projects and services.
Our mission is to enhance and strengthen tribal sovereignty and justice while honoring community values, protecting rights, and promoting well-being.
Our vision is to empower Native communities to create and control their own institutions for the benefit/welfare of all community members now and for future generations.
